The private patio area to the rear is a great sun trap with patio furniture and BBQ for family alfresco dining. You are free to walk and play on the farmland where you will see cattle and sheep roaming peacefully. At certain times of the year you will be able to see skipping lambs and calves in fields close to the cottage.

These purpose-built holiday cottages (refs 24574, 27255 and 27257) have been constructed or converted from the original farmhouse buildings and an old Welsh longhouse. Welsh craftsmanship at its best - only the finest local tradesmen and materials have been used for the conversion of these buildings. They are situated in an elevated position on the edge of Broadlay near Ferryside on the old pilgrim road to St David’s Cathedral a half mile from the Three Rivers Hotel and Spa. Guests are welcome to use all the facilities at the hotel such as the swimming pool. There is generous amenity space and a country adventure play area for small accompanied children. The complex is on the local bus route which connects to Carmarthen via the hotel and Ferryside railway station. In the opposite direction, Kidwelly and Swansea are en route. Ferryside is uncommercialised, peaceful and quiet; the ideal getaway for a perfect weekend (or longer) break. It is also, due to its proximity to Carmarthen, Llanelli and other centres, an ideal corporate meeting place. Kidwelly, with its Norman castle, industrial heritage museum, Pembrey Country Park and Motorsport Centre, within approximately 10 minutes’ travelling time. The National Botanical Gardens, Laugharne (famous for Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse) and many Pembrokeshire attractions are about half an hour’s drive. There are many places to visit including Dylan Thomas’ cottage, where he spent the last years of his life. The Millennium Coastal Cycle Path, part of the national cycle path network, meanders through approximately 20 miles of local coastline, passing through local areas of interest. The Towers Ref: OTR

The Towers is a substantial harbour master’s mansion (for a harbour that was never made), and was built by John Platt in 1872. On a grand scale of over 5000 square feet, in a Gothic chateau style, it has been refurbished to an excellent standard. Located yards from the beach, this detached property boasts flexible holiday accommodation including a fine cinema room with a beautiful hand painted domed ceiling, dining room with seating for 20 people, beach room, library and games room. There is also a large kitchen with breakfast room, ten bedrooms and living room. Of particular note is the superb Balinese bedroom with its ornate beamed and Hessian ceiling which like many rooms, including the fantastic lantern tower, benefits from magnificent views across to the Isle of Anglesey and Puffin Island. The lawned garden has an attractive ornamental pond with a Japanese three-tier fountain surrounded by a 9-hole putting green. The driveway extends to the rear of the property where there is a further garden area and small orchard and parking for 10 vehicles.
The walled town of Conwy lies close by between Llandudno and Bangor, and with the West Coast train line passing through both towns, London is only 3 hours away. Conwy is home to an elegant 13th-century castle built by Edward I, as well as other buildings of note - such as the 14th-century timber and stone Aberconwy House (NT), the splendid Plas Mawr and what is reputed to be the smallest house in Britain. For art lovers, there is the Royal Cambrian Academy (where displays of Welsh artists’ work are shown during the annual summer exhibition). As well as being the major shopping town for the area, Llandudno is also home to Venue Cymru theatre which has a range of touring productions. The town also has two beaches and the famous views from the top of the Great Orme (679ft), jutting out into the Irish Sea, which can be explored by tramway, cable car or on foot. In the other direction is Ynys Môn (the Isle of Anglesey) with its 125 miles of coastline of fantastic beaches and rocky coves. For walkers, there are plenty of routes to explore - including The Cambrian Way which begins in Conwy, and winds its 274 miles to Cardiff, passing through some of Wales’ most wonderful upland scenery, and taking in the Carneddau, the Glyders, the Snowdon Massif, Cadair Idris and the Brecon Beacons. Bodnant Garden is a further attraction in the area for visitors, providing displays of rhododendrons and laburnum in May/June and other colour throughout the year. Horse riding nearby. Sunny Grange is situated by the marina in the coastal town of Burry Port, which, along with the surrounding area, is becoming one of the most popular places to stay whilst visiting the west Wales coast. There is the Millennium coastal park cycle path, 3 golf courses, a 7 mile Blue Flag beach, country park with dry ski slope, motor sports centre and equestrian centre. The town is also situated on the main west Wales to London train line.
Burry Port is a seaside town with a backdrop of mountains, offering fine walks and leisurely days on the beach. Fishing trips for mackerel or bass can be arranged. Golf and cruises round the west coast and mooring for your own boat in the marina can also be arranged.
