Following the coast road from Llandudno you will find sandy beaches and more nice flat walks in the village of Rhos on Sea. The tiny church of St Trillo is nestled away on the promenade. If you have children to entertain, the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwn Bay is a great place to spend the day.  A tasty meal out is no further than the neighbouring Maenan Abbey Hotel, a mere 5 minute stroll from Abbey End. This beautiful part of north Wales has something for everyone.

Sea fishing, sailing and swimming can be enjoyed from sandy beaches near the harbour town of Porthmadog (6 miles), which is also home to the famous Ffestiniog Railway, and a golf course nearby at Morfa Bychan, which also has a long, golden sandy beach with sublime views down to Harlech and up to the peaks of Snowdonia. Porthmadog also boasts a maritime museum and a car museum.
Llanberis is home to the Mountain Railway terminus, from where trains make the 5-mile journey up the side of Snowdon, to the café at the summit. Nearby Beddgelert is an enchanting village huddled amidst some majestic mountain scenery, famous for the legend of Prince Llywelyn and his faithful hound.
Extravagant and Italianate Portmeirion is a short drive away near the Morfa Harlech Nature Reserve. The Log House Ref: OQF

Set in extensive, private woodland grounds which extend to over 25 acres, The Log House nestles within a mixed ‘old plantation’ forest offering the most outstanding ‘get away’ retreat. Located just outside Capel Curig and only six miles from Snowdon, the house was built over 110 years ago by a Norwegian sea captain. Guests are free to roam the grounds which are available for their exclusive use. Features include a lively tributary of the River Llugwy which tumbles down the mountain side on the eastern boundary, a tennis court, cross country running track, summer house (built by Lloyd George), an orchard and football pitch! There is also a small heated outdoor swimming pool available by prior arrangement. Follow tracks around the grounds, some of which take you to the top of Alt Goch, and these offer amazing 360 degree views of Snowdonia. Moel Siabod, a 872m high summit (from which it is reputedly possible to see 13 of the 14 highest peaks in Wales on a clear day), can be conquered direct from the house and forms an amazing back drop to the lower gardens. The house is surrounded by terraced gardens and for those with the outdoor spirit, a fire pit with seating is available on an upper terrace for evenings around an open fire. A short climb up a path leads to the property which provides a unique and cosy atmosphere only a log house can generate. Views of the lower ranges of Snowdonia can be seen from two bedrooms and the rear terrace. Nearby Betws-y-Coed is known for its bustling shops, pubs and restaurants. Pen-Ilin is situated at the base of the mountains of Arenig Fach and Arenig Fawn and from the windows of the main large vaulted living areas and master bedroom are stunning views directly over Lake Celyn. This detached property is sited in an area of SSI, where an abundance of unusual wildlife are regularly spotted. The area is also of particular historic interest, as the site is a former 16th century Quaker settlement that consists of the wonderfully spacious Pen-Ilin along with the original detached Quaker meeting house. The site extends to 9.5 acres with Pen-Ilin enjoying its own secluded areas, private parking but sharing access with the cottage to a private wood and a large paddock and river frontage. Enjoy a walk through the paddock where the paths wind through breathtaking mountain scenery, pass secluded lakes and where native falcons are often seen overhead. The first things that most visitors comment on when they visit is the tranquil setting and the sense of space within the barns interior, and although the general theme is contemporary, many original features, such as a large stone fireplace and exposed beams have been retained.
