Find cottages in PembrokeshireVisit Pembrokeshire

Due to the Gulf Stream, Pembrokeshire has a relatively temperate climate and has been attracting holidaymakers for decades that come to enjoy the endless miles of superb beaches. From dramatic cliffs teeming with birdlife to sleepy river inlets and charming towns and villages, it's all in accessible from your very own Pembrokeshire holiday cottage.

You'll discover a county bursting with spectacular scenery, walks and wildlife, food and drink and much more.

Choose from dozens of world-class beaches, some so secluded you may have one to yourself, even in high summer! Enjoy clifftop walks above the shores or take a tranquil stroll around the many secluded inland backwaters of the Cleddau rivers.

Pop into Tenby and enjoy the famous view of the brightly painted houses that surround the harbour, or explore the town with its winding streets and many tempting shops. Why not take a short boat ride from the harbour to Caldey Island and enjoy the kind of calm that seems to emanate from its Cistercian Abbey, not to mention the aroma of the unique perfumes made by the monks who live and work there.

Get up close to seals, seabirds or spot the occasional dolphin on one of many boat trips from the harbour. You can book fishing trips, whether you are a beginner or an old hand. With many Pembrokeshire cottages based in and around this busy part of the county, it's no wonder so many visitors make it their base for exploring the region.

There's a lot for youngsters in Pembrokeshire too, like the award-winning Folly Farm Adventure Park or fun for young and old at Ritec Valley Quad Bikes near Penally. Why not catch a wave and go surfing or wind-surfing from its western beaches like Newgale or Freshwater West. Another haven of calm is St David's, where the magnificent historic Cathedral is not to be missed.

It's a county of discovery, from coastal splendour to rural calm, with pretty villages, bustling towns and magnificent beaches. There's a lot to do and many places to go, whether you choose to see it on foot, by cycle, car, bus or even by boat.

But don't take our word for it. Seek out this fascinating region for yourself from one of our selection of holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire and discover a county that's quite unlike any other, either in Wales or anywhere in the UK.

In a hidden valley, surrounded by fields on every side, with red kites, buzzards and ravens circling above and with views of the Preseli Hills to the west, these peaceful holiday properties (refs OWV, OWU & OWW) are close to so much in west Wales. Fron Isaf Cottages nestle within the owners’ beautiful grounds and have been sensitively converted from old slate and stone barns into cosy and attractive holiday accommodation, and Ysgubor Uchaf (ref OWW) is a silver award winner with the Green Tourism Council. The stunning indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi make these very special properties. Each cottage has its own outdoor area with private seating and a barbecue. In addition there is a large mature garden with a decked seating area perfect for enjoying the rural views and watching the sun set over the Preselis.
The properties’ environmental credentials are strong. Water comes from a spring and much of the heating and hot water is from a geothermal source. A footpath leads directly from the cottages providing circular walks of varying length in the surrounding countryside.
The nearest town is Narberth, with its wonderful shopping opportunities. About half an hour’s drive to the south are Tenby, Saundersfoot and Amroth with their glorious beaches. While half an hour to the north the dramatic Pembrokeshire and Cardigan coastlines offer beautiful bays, sandy beaches and market towns like Newport, with its excellent restaurants and many good pubs. Carmarthen and Haverfordwest are half an hour away and both towns have a good range of shops, supermarkets and a market. Tourist attractions like Oakwood, Folly Farm, Anna’s Welsh Zoo, Blue Lagoon Water Park as well as The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and St. Davids - Britain’s smallest city - make for a good day out. There are also at least seventeen castles to visit within an hour’s drive. Excellent walking in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and on the coast path, as well as activities like golfing, sailing, fishing, cycling and horse riding are plentiful in the area. Shop, 3½ miles, pub 1 mile.

On-site facilities including swimming pool

These beautiful cottages have been tastefully renovated from a traditional Welsh barn and are set in the heart of Pembrokeshire alongside the Llys-y-Fran Country Park and reservoir. There are plenty of facilities available for guests free of charge, including croquet and badminton, a heated covered swimming pool, all-weather tennis court and a children’s play garden. You can also enjoy the country park which is less than a minute’s walk and has a 200-acre reservoir and an impressive 100ft dam, the largest game fishing in west Wales. This is a beautiful woodland setting with a delightful nature trail for both walkers and cyclists, and an 8-mile perimeter trail providing fine views and a variety of wildlife including badgers, foxes and otters. The broadleaf woodland provides a breeding site for sparrowhawk, buzzard and woodpecker, whilst the lake attracts uncommon water bird species such as little gull and black tern. Set in the heart of Pembrokeshire, giving access to beaches, national park, the historic Preseli Mountains and the worlds famous Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Coastal Path. Within a short drive is Oakwood Theme Park. A holiday in Pembrokeshire would not be complete without a visit to the picturesque harbour and the golden beaches at Tenby or the busy resort of Saundersfoot, a complete contrast from the more secluded parts perhaps, but always popular with children. Also within a short drive are Manor House Wildlife Park, Caldey Island, with its cistercian monastery and countless historic castles such as Carew, and Pembroke. It is an ideal location for a perfect family holiday as a getaway or for trying some of the outdoor pursuits and entertainment. Pembrokeshire is famous for its excellent restaurants and pubs.
