Bwlch Cliced Ref: 30292

This contemporary semi-detached stone barn conversion is situated on the small holding ’Tŷ Hen Henllys’ with stunning coastal, mountain and countryside views. On a clear day you can see Bardsey Island, Lleyn Peninsula, and from the patio you can see for over 30 miles, stretching from Aberdovey along the Dovey Estuary to Cadair Idris and beyond. Bwlch Cliced has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard giving particular consideration to local heritage and history, our furnishings and artwork are carefully chosen on the theme of wool, in particular the Welsh Garthen (tapestry blanket) which were produced in a variety of patterns and colours. Ear-marks on sheep or other animals were served as a sign of ownership. This form of marking was important in mountainous areas where animals were allowed to graze in open country. Bwlch Cliced is the name of one such ear-mark, different farms have their own combination of ear-marks that they use. The work of our village artist, Ruth Jên from her ’Welsh Ladies’ and ’Home Spun Cloth’ series are prominent features of the décor. Attractions including Ynys-Hir, the RSPB wildlife haven, and the Dyfi Osprey Project are nearby. Borth is 3 miles away, with its 2 mile stretch of sandy beaches. At the northern end is the impressive sand dune system, known as Dyfi National Nature Reserve. The magnificent Cors Fochno, known to many as Borth Bog, a flat 4 mile peat bog, is a nature lover’s dream. Borth’s submerged forest, most of the time hidden by the sand and sea, but occasionally rough seas scour the sand away, can be seen at low tide along the beach, where stumps of oak, pine, birch, willow and hazel (preserved by the acid anaerobic conditions in the peat) can be seen. Aberystwyth with its pier and promenade, castle, the National Library of Wales, the cliff railway to the summit, and an unusual Camera Obscura, are all nearby. From Aberystwyth you can take the steam train on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to Devil’s Bridge with its waterfalls and bridges. Complimentary tea and cakes on arrival, and a complimentary breakfast with fresh home-made bread provided. Beach 3 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with tiled floors. Utility room. Partial open tread stairs to first floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 twin (zip and link). Shower room with toilet.

Electricity, biomass central heating (underfloor on ground floor), bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. Digital TV. Playstation3/DVD (small DVD library). iPod dock. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Courtyard with sitting-out area and furniture. Shared 10-acre grounds. Barbecue. Parking (3 cars).
