Ysgubor Fawr (Great Barn) is one of three Cennen Cottages properties situated in a courtyard setting within one of the most beautiful and secluded areas in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The properties are architect-designed conversions of C19 stone barns and are finished to a very high standard. They form part of historic Blaenllynnant Farm, the home of Sir John Williams who was physician to Queen Victoria and the founder of the National Library of Wales. Each property is well separated from the others and has its own lawned grounds and outstanding views of the Black Mountain. Red kites and buzzards abound.
This is excellent walking country, not only on Blaenllynnant Farm itself, but also to nearby Carreg Cennen Castle (named Wales’ most spectacular castle) and the Black Mountain. Garn Goch, the site of an Iron Age fort with superb views of the upper Towy Valley, is only 3 miles away. There are good restaurants and pubs in Llandeilo (6 miles), Llangadog (8 miles) and the village of Trap (4 miles). Within easy driving distance are the Gower, Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire coasts. Nearby attractions include the National Botanical Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Garden and, in Llandeilo, Dinefwr Castle and Park. Shops 6 miles.
The properties are easily accessible, being only 12 miles from the end of the M4 and 8 miles from the A40.

Henllys Lodge is a most beautiful spacious and luxurious eco-friendly cottage set in rural Carmarthenshire, being a detached house with large lawned gardens and benefiting from views of the surrounding countryside, sleeping up to eight people. It has Solar hot water roof panels and ground source heat pumps which provide the majority of the hot water and under floor heating throughout the property. With sheep’s wool insulation, it’s warm and cosy.  Awarded 5 Stars by Visit Wales. Formerly a small lodge house, it has now been extensively re-built and re-designed with eco-friendly and allergy-friendly features throughout; the floors are made from local oak with under-floor heating and each room is tastefully decorated. The ground floor being open plan, has a large matted lobby entrance where coats and boots can be stored and has the benefit of a large Cloakroom with WC. The large kitchen/dining room has all modern energy efficient A or A* rated appliances, such as Rangemaster cooker with two ovens, Miele fridge-freezer, Miele dishwasher, M&S microwave, John Lewis washing machine and condenser drier, granite work surfaces and all the cooking equipment and utensils you will need.  Double French Doors open out onto a Welsh slate patio area with garden furniture and barbecue.  In the middle of the living room is a double-sided wood-burning stove which is cosy in the colder months.  The 40" LED television has freeview channels; there is a DVD player with a selection of DVD’s, a CD player with I-pod dock, table football, a large selection of games and puzzles, books including guides of the area, and daylight lamps for reading.  There is also WIFI internet access and a telephone for calls within UK.  There are four bedrooms: three double rooms, two of which have en-suite wet rooms, and a room with full-sized single bunk beds. There is a separate bathroom with bath and overhead shower. All bathrooms have heated towel rails. The beds have allergy-friendly mattresses and bedding.   For those lovely summer evenings, after exploring the Welsh countryside, the large lawned garden offers flower beds planted with native plants flowering at different times of the year and a lawn leading down to a pond, teeming with wildlife including fish, frogs, newts, water lilies, etc. There is a double swing for younger guests. Fill up the bird feeder to watch all sorts of birds, including nuthatches, green finches and woodpeckers. Red kites and buzzards soar overhead.  There is private off-road parking for 3+ cars and a locked shed providing secure storage for bicycles etc.
