Beaumaris Castle is possibly the most striking man-made structure you can find on the island and perhaps the ultimate testament to this incredible 13th century castle comes from the fact that so much of it is still standing today.

Equally fascinating and a stark contrast to the comfort you'll find in a holiday cottage is Beaumaris Gaol. A sobering reminder of days gone by, the gaol makes for a fascinating visitor experience.

The view from South Stack Lighthouse comes highly recommended and if you'd like to meet some 'locals' there are few better ways to do it than at Foal Farm Park, a lovely open farm with views of Snowdonia.

Sparsely populated with an unspoilt landscape and a long and rich history, a break in Anglesey offers a fantastically opportunity to enjoy one of the UK's best kept secrets. It's a great place for walkers and cyclists, which is one of the best ways to explore and fully appreciate the island.

The Windmill (ref 29567) has a lovely living area on the ground floor and a double bedroom on each of the first and second floors, from where a steep, space saver staircase leads up to a third floor living room with a balcony and fabulous views out over the surrounding countryside. Full of original features oozing character, The Windmill has been the subject of a simply stunning restoration, which makes this a cosy and quirky place to stay.
