The South West of Wales and North Wales are famous for idyllic landscapes and coastlines. You'll find great off-the-beaten-track things to do there. Take, for example, the renowned Pembrokeshire coastal path. A detour few try is the boat trip from Tenby to Caldey Island. There you can visit the working monastery which produces perfumes sold locally. Broad Haven Beach back on the mainland is gorgeous as are the nearby lily-covered Bosherton
Lakes, landscaped over 200 years ago.On the coast in mid Wales is the organic farm at Llanerchaeron Estate. Here traditional activities are still practised including milking, lambing and hay-making. The farm is expert in keeping rare Welsh pigs. Outdoor activities in Snowdonia can be enjoyed from the quieter walking base of Betws-y-Coed where the terrain is gentler than around the better-known mountain villages. Or miss the mountaineering altogether and try lake sailing or white water rafting around Bala.
