Property Description of Arvor East in Mawgan Porth, Newquay, N. Cornwall.

"Welcome to a unique concept in modern, environmentally friendly holiday accommodation in North Cornwall for all ages and sizes of party"

The Park at Mawgan Porth offers a wide range of simple, yet extremely comfortable accommodation and is located in a unique position, only a few hundred yards from the fine surfing beach of Mawgan Porth, within a rural setting of mature parkland of 27 acres. The Park is applying for a ‘Green Business Award’ as the importance of supporting the natural environment is strongly advocated here, ensuring sustainability and protecting the heritage of this area. Responsible tourism is a fundamental part of the business ethos and informs all that this family-run company does.
The Park is now open all year round, including Christmas and Easter (from 2010), which is possible due to the introduction of central heating in all properties, including solar thermal systems, underfloor heating, and improved insulation and ventilation.
Eco lodges, built using sustainable materials with a low carbon rating, blend in beautifully with the landscaping and native planting around The Park. The range of cottages provides that extra touch of comfort and privacy. Some of the units are specifically designed to create disability access with ramps, bathing facilities and thresholds to allow easy wheelchair manoeuvrability.
The cottages at The Park have from one to three bedrooms. Each has been refurbished to the high standard that incorporates the ethos of sustainability, simplicity and comfort with a nostalgic twist. Windsong, ref. TCA, is also under the same ownership.
The Park at Mawgan Porth has a huge range of facilities for everyone to enjoy, whatever age, such as an outdoor heated swimming pool, picnic and sitting areas, barbecues, trampoline, outdoor activity equipment, children’s area, swings, woodland, wildlife walks to explore and a shop. There is also low level outdoor lighting so guests can enjoy the grounds in the evenings, and communal fire pits are available around the site.
The beautiful bay at Mawgan Porth offers dramatic scenery, unique to this part of Cornwall. The wide expanse of white sand is bordered by cliffs on each side and backed by the village with its family friendly pub, beach shop, delicatessen and restaurant.
The beach provides something for everyone, from surfing, rock pooling, crabbing, kite flying, picnics during the day, to sunsets with a lazy beach barbecue to round off the perfect day.
The village of Mawgan Porth lies between two more famous neighbours - Padstow to the east and Newquay to the west. Each of these holiday resorts offer their own unique charm and facilities, such as surf schools, a zoo, marine aquarium, off road cycling trails, kite surfing, sea fishing, kayaking, go karting, and world renowned chefs and their restaurants - Rick Stein in Padstow and Jamie Oliver at Watergate Bay in Newquay. This places The Park in the most enviable location to enjoy these bustling resorts while being able to retire to the peace and tranquillity at the end of the day.
If visitors feel the need to travel further afield, it is surprising how diverse a range of tourist attractions and quaint Cornish villages can be reached with ease, from National Trust houses and gardens, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Roseland Peninsula and historic Bodmin Moor. The towns and villages to visit include Fowey, Falmouth, Port Isaac, St Ives, Truro and Mevagissey which all provide an excellent day out.
Newquay airport is within 10 minutes’ drive of The Park, so holidaymakers can leave the car and arrive in style from many destinations.
Horse riding, golf, cycling, swimming and sailing are all available in the area, making The Park at Mawgan Porth an ideal choice of holiday accommodation. Shops within 600 yards, pub 500 yards.
