The Gold Award identifies a wide range of properties that have been rated as 'excellent' overall by holidaymakers who have completed our customer satisfaction survey at the end of their stay.
We believe that the best people to judge these properties are our customers because theirs are the opinions we value the most.
To ensure that our customer's expectations are being met and to ensure that each property is maintaining its quality, we invite everyone who holidays with us to complete a short customer satisfaction questionnaire at the end of their stay. Around 50,000 questionnaires are completed and returned to us each year.
Satisfaction levels on our range of properties is extremely high, but it is clear that some properties offer exceptional accommodation. So, to recognise those properties which have been rated as 'excellent overall' by our holidaymaker's in these questionnaires, we have introduced our Gold Award accolade. This award is completely independent of our star ratings so a one or two star property has the same chance of becoming a Gold Award winner as a five star property.
To mark the award, all the winning properties display an official certificate - and by choosing to stay at any of the Gold Award winners listed here, you can anticipate an experience which is quite exceptional.
The Gold Award is just the latest example of the many ways we constantly encourage and support property owners in their goal of achieving ever higher standards to benefit you, the holidaymaker.
The Gold Award is completely independent of the Visit Britain Star ratings and is our way to both promise you an exceptional holiday experience and to encourage all our property owners to strive for ever higher standards on your behalf.
