Built as a hunting lodge for the Lord MacDonald of Skye, Sconser Lodge exudes a baronial air yet offers every modern comfort. This is a fantastic house for an extended family group, a gathering of old friends or can simply provide an excuse for lovers of the great outdoors to get together and enjoy a break in this glorious setting. Sconser Lodge is set in an acre of grounds. Lawns lead down to the water’s edge and it even has its own jetty from which to fish or launch your own boat or canoe. A separate fully enclosed decked area provides a lovely play area for small children, complete with Wendy house and small table and chairs. With its close proximity to the sea, otters and seals can be spotted along the shore line and whales, dolphins, porpoises and rare sea eagles are all seen in the area.

The Laird’s Wing Ref: 29843

This spacious holiday property, set over 3 floors and furnished with antiques, is a wing of Brodie Castle, a 16th-century tower house which is set in 175 acres of parkland. The original castle was built in 1567, but after coming under attack in 1645, parts of it were destroyed. Today, the castle is filled with art and antiques, including French furniture, Chinese porcelain, 19th-century English watercolours and early 20th-century works. There is also an impressive library which contains around 6000 volumes. Guests have access to the extensive grounds and can explore the many woodland walks or observe the varied wildlife, including red squirrel, roe deer, pine marten, hare and badgers. For bird watchers, there are 2 bird hides situated next to the pond. Also on site is a tea room/shop, picnic area and a children’s play area. For the more active visitor, there are plenty of activities available in the local area. A number of golf courses can be found nearby, including the championship golf courses at Nairn Dunbar and Royal Dornoch. Walking and cycling trails can be found at Culbin Forest, the Dava Way and Speyside Way long distance routes are within easy reach, and boat fishing can be enjoyed at Blairs Loch, Forres or Lochindorb. Spend a day at one of the sandy beaches in the area or visit the Cairngorm National Park, where a funicular railway can be taken to the top. These four adjoining properties offer sumptuous accommodation within extensive grounds situated in The Carse of Gowrie which runs from the north Bank of the River Tay up to the northern slopes of the Braes of the Carse, between Perth and Dundee, noted for its fruit growing, especially raspberries and strawberries. This 19th century house is a peaceful haven, set in the lush walled Harmony Garden. Harmony was given its name by the Melrose joiner who built it, after the Jamaican pimento plantation where he made his fortune. Harmony Garden is a tranquil walled garden comprising lawns, herbaceous and mixed borders, vegetable and fruit, and a rich display of spring bulbs.
