The pretty Perthshire town of Pitlochry is the gateway to the Highlands and surrounded by beautiful mountain and forest scenery.

You'll find everything from adrenalin sports and a mountain hike to gentle walks, historic castles and welcome drams in this popular highland town. Located by the River Tummel and with Ben Vrackie providing the back drop the Pitlochry area is a lovely place for a cottage break.

Enjoy gentle riverside walks and woodland trails around Loch Faskally; visit The Explorers garden where you can see a collection of plants from around the world. For more exertion scale Ben Vrackie and enjoy the panoramic views from its peak or 'drop in' to Highland Fling Bungee, the UK's first permanent bungee venue set in the historic National Park at Killiecrankie. The Nae Limits adventure park has canyonning, canoeing, white water and rafting.

Nearby is the historic Blair Castle, ancestral home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl, and the beautiful Hercules Gardens in the castle grounds. If you fancy a dram there are two distilleries in the area including Scotland's smallest at Edradour.

By the banks of the river Tay is the Pitlochry Festival Theatre (The theatre-in-the-hills), which apart from the excellent plays, also has great views and is well worth a visit. Here you can relax and take advantage of their full catering facilities if you wish to.

Surrounded by some of Perthshire’s finest scenery, this very comfortable, well-equipped holiday cottage is within easy walking distance of the small Highland town of Aberfeldy and its many amenities. Attached at one end to another cottage, it has its own garden and is set in a small courtyard. Less than half a mile away, visitors enjoy free membership of a local country club, offering use of an indoor heated swimming pool with hot tub, sauna and steam room, a sports hall (badminton, short tennis, squash etc.), pool and snooker tables (small charge) and a terrace bar and restaurant. There is a multitude of outdoor activities on offer nearby, including canoeing, sailing and white water rafting, outdoor tennis, horse riding, a play park, bowling green, putting green and a golf course. Aberfeldy offers a cinema, shops, cafés, delicatessen, bookshop, galleries, bars and restaurants - all are within walking distance. Shops and pub 250 yards.

This property is close to Gleneagles where the 2014 Ryder Cup took place, come and play a round of golf all year round on this world-renowned course.
