Find cottages in UllapoolVisit Ullapool

The fishing port and holiday resort of Ullapool lays on the shores of Loch Broom and provides the perfect holiday cottage location for exploring Wester Ross and the Scottish Highlands. The town has a lovely intimate atmosphere and is surrounded on all sides by beautiful, haunting landscapes, dramatic peaks and quiet countryside.

One of the most unspoilt areas of natural beauty in all of Scotland, the town sits next to Inverpolly National Nature Reserve, looking out across the glistening Loch Broom, a popular area for fishing and birdwatching. The area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with mile upon mile of stunning scenery to explore. Numerous high ridges offer spectacular views if you are brave enough to take the challenge, and the whole area is full of country walking paths and cycle trails through the woodlands.

The mountainous areas offer some good climbing for both beginners and experts, and of course there are plenty of walking and hiking trails if you fancy something less strenous; guided tours are available locally. Or hop on one of the ferries that regularly depart from the harbour for wonderful views of this stunning coastline.

In town there are all the facilities you'll need during your stay, including the usual array of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. There's also a leisure centre with swimming pool, heritage museum and post office, as well as a nine-hole golf course.
