Robert Burns is probably Ayrshire's most famous former resident and one of Scotland's favourite sons. The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in the village of Alloway is a fascinating tribute and a great visitor attraction in its own right. The nearby Burns Monument and Gardens prove an equally popular tribute and offer a fantastic opportunity to brush up on Scottish culture and history while admiring your idyllic surroundings.
