Within only a 14 mile drive you can explore the west side of Loch Lomond, visiting the historic hamlet of Luss, or take a Loch Cruise around or out to one of the islands. Outdoor enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with birdwatching, superb surfing and windsurfing, sea angling, diving, cycling and horse riding nearby. In the surrounding area, the clean environment and clear waters are home to all sorts of interesting wildlife with frequent sightings of seals from the lodge. Close by are miles of beautiful, white, sandy beaches and for walkers, the Kintyre Way runs from Tarbert in the north to Dunaverty Bay in the south. There are five unique golf courses in the area, including Macrihanish Dunes and they are known as some of the best courses in Scotland. Nearby, daily ferry trips run to many of the smaller isles including Arran, Islay and Gigha. Take a trip via an RIB to see the seals and puffins around Sanda and the Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse. Campbeltown has a cinema and leisure centre, or visit the Campbeltown whisky distillery for a guided tour, where you can partake in ‘a wee dram’.
