Esplanade Court is situated in a particularly superb location overlooking Oban Bay, on the lovely west coast of Scotland. The holiday apartments have qualified for the STB 4 Star rating. They are equipped and furnished to a good standard with each one having a panoramic view over the bay and out to the isles of Kerrera, Mull and Lismore. Oban is a lively west coast town with lots going on for the visitor. It is central for touring the west coast, or take a boat trip to the above islands and Iona which leave daily. There is a lovely sandy beach at Ganavan which is 1½ miles away. There are some very good restaurants in which to eat dinner in the evening, after maybe a days climbing, walking or enjoying some of the wonderful animal and plant life which the west highlands has to offer. Rhoda’s Cottage is a charming semi detached property located in the small village of Strachur, which lies on the eastern shore of Loch Fyne - famous throughout the United Kingdom for the quality of its sea food. Attached to the west wing of the historic Strachur House, this attractive, tranquil cottage enjoys a private setting with its own front entrance. It occupies an idyllic location on the 2000 acre Strachur Estate. The antique yet practical household furniture ensures Rhoda’s Cottage retains its charming, old fashioned character and charm. The larger bedrooms overlook the spectacular formal gardens of the main house and beyond to the heather clad hills. The smaller bedroom has a view over the much loved loch. Strachur House itself, a fine Adams style mansion, was built by General John Campbell in the 1780s. From 1957 the house was home to the illustrious Scot, Sir John Fitzroy MacLean, the soldier, diplomat and adventurer, who was said to have been the model for Ian Fleming’s hero, James Bond. The Maclean family still live in the main house. The local village shop, cafe, Inn with bar and restaurant, petrol station, village hall and tennis courts are all within easy walking distance from the cottage.

You can travel here by car, over the "Rest & Be Thankful" or take a ferry crossing from Gourock. Alternatively, if you have no car you can still easily access Dunoon via train from Glasgow to Gourock and be picked up from the ferry (with prior arrangement owners can pick you up in Glasgow, they also can offer guided tours).
