Find cottages in InverarayVisit Inveraray

The beautiful Royal Burgh of Inveraray is situated amongst outstanding scenery on the banks of Loch Fyne. The town provides the perfect cottage holiday base for exploring Argyll, with easy access to wonderful coastline, The Trossachs National Park and Loch Lomond. As well as the stunning mountainous landscape and peaceful loch shores, the town has a good selection of local attractions.

Inveraray was first established in the eighteenth century by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, characterised by its pretty white washed cottages and the imposing bell tower of the All Saints Church which can be accessed by ascending 176 steps and has one of the heaviest ring of bells in the world; the views from the top are simply breathtaking.

Enjoying the wonderful architecture of Inveraray Castle, the home of the Duke of Argyle, is a most pleasant way to enjoy the day, as is visiting nearby Ardkinglas House. Inverawe Country Park, Cruachan Visitor centre (outstanding hydroelectric engineering) and the living history of Inveraray Jail and Auchindrain Museum provide a fascinating insight to the diversity of this area.

There's golf, boating and outdoor activities all available in the local area if you're feeling energetic. Stunning coastal and countryside days out surround you. There's excellent shopping and dining out in the area, with delicious local produce readily available.

If your visiting in late summer both the Dalmally Show and Oban Highland Games provide visitors with a great chance to see the best of local agriculture, music, field and track events.
