Find cottages in DunoonVisit Dunoon

Dunoon is the principal town on the Cowal Peninsula, and it's a great spot for exploring the beautiful peninsular, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

Occupying a coastal position facing out over the Firth of Clyde, the town clusters around the historic Castle Mound, has an attractive promenade and Victorian pier. In town you'll find galleries showcasing local artists, craft shops and cafes, as well as quaint tearooms. Take to the water and enjoy a cruise taking in the stunning coastal scenery for a day out that the whole family will love.

Dunoon has a traditional Scottish charm, so whether you're exploring the countryside, shopping in town or relaxing with a drink at a cosy pub, you'll feel right at home amongst the friendly locals. It's the perfect destination for those looking to relax and unwind.

The forests surrounding the town are a great place to enjoy cycling, walking or horse riding, or why not visit the statue of 'Highland Mary'? From her vantage point on Castle Hill's slopes you'll have stunning views over the town and countryside; Mary Campbell famously had a tempestuous and tragic affair with the poet Robert Burns and became the subject of many of his most famous works.

Dunoon is renowned for a number of culinary specialities; the seafood, including Loch Fyne Oysters, is simply amazing here, and local venison and lamb are also on the menu year round. You'll find a variety of restaurants in the town, from romantic, candle-lit taverns to cafes that cater for the whole family, so there's no reason to head back to your cottage unless you want to whip up a delicious dish with delicacies bought in town that day!

With so many cottages in Dunoon just waiting for you to come and enjoy a weekend or longer break, why not begin your search today?
