Taigh Geal is one of two newly built cottages set in their own garden grounds in one of the most beautiful parts of the Highlands, in the heart of Wester Ross. This spacious single storey cottage offers bright, open plan accommodation, with three good sized bedrooms. Built to a high standard with solid wood doors and a large wood-burning stove in the main living area, Taigh Geal provides ideal holiday accommodation for up to six people. The combined lounge/dining/kitchen area has large picture windows that look out across unspoilt open countryside. Patio doors lead through to a delightful outdoor dining area and thence to the main gardens. There are two double bedrooms (one en-suite), a bunk bedroom and a spacious family bathroom. Situated in a quiet no through lane that leads away into the hills, Taigh Geal is ideal for visitors who enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, sailing or simply relaxing away from the crowds in one of the most scenic areas of the Highlands. The surrounding area is a haven for wildlife and a photographers’ and bird-watchers’ paradise. Otters, red deer, seals, pine martins and a wide variety of birds including red-throated divers and corncrakes are all seen in the region. There are some wonderful walks direct from the property and with the Torridon Mountains, the Skye Cuillins, MacLeod’s Tables and the Five Sisters of Kintail mountain ranges all within easy reach, hill walkers and climbers are spoilt for choice. The picture post card village of Plockton is just over a mile away. Made famous as the venue for the television series Hamish Macbeth, it is well worth a visit. With its picturesque flower filled gardens, little winding streets and pretty cottages lining the foreshore it is easy to see why it has also become a haunt for artists. The surrounding area offers a wealth of activities, places of interest and historic sites. The fairy tale castle of Eilean Donan, enchantingly situated on a promontory in the loch and accessed by a small causeway, is a short drive away. A spectacular route takes you past this famous castle and through the amazing mountain range known as the Five Sisters of Kintail and beautiful Glen Shiel, before reaching the shores of Loch Ness. .
