The surrounding countryside is glorious with pretty coves and beaches in abundance, and the forests and lakes of the Comeragh and Knockmealdown Mountains are within 25 miles. There are a number of sign posted scenic routes to follow in your car such as the Nire Valley Drive and the Vee Drive. There is the magnificent estuary of the River Blackwater at Youghal and boat trips are available in the summer. Fishing, golf and riding are all available locally.
