From here you can explore the island on foot or on bicycle. There is a grocery delivery service available, by prior arrangement, 3 times a week. There is a sandy beach, a sailing school, a bakery and bread school, and resident artists’ studios. There is no pub but there is a restaurant that’s widely known. There are fishing opportunities, boat trips to other islands or a pizza and pint evening in Baltimore. With ferries running every two hours from 8am until 6pm (sometimes later in summer), you can experience the delights of the mainland. Skibbereen is 8 miles.
