These practical holiday homes (ref W14472 and W14473) are in an excellent position, close to the picturesque and sheltered port, with a local beach just 300m away and the main beach of Port Manec’h just 1km.

Each property has its own private outdoor area and there are bars, restaurants and shops close by (seasonal), and shops and restaurants which are open all year 4km away.

The local area is very pretty, with miles of coastline and scenic river estuaries with sheltered coves, or the long, dune backed white sands of Raguénez, known as Tahiti. Visit the artists’ centre of Pont Aven and historic Concarneau with its fortified Ville Close full of boutiques and crêperies.

Wonderfully situated for all seasons and set amongst lovely forest scenery, is this neat little chalet standing next to the owner’s farmhouse. Close to the Arly Gorges, Chamonix and Mont Blanc (40 km), there are splendid drives in all directions: Albertville, Lake Annecy, fashionable Megève, and in winter, the ski-lift is just down the road. The large south-east facing terrace takes full advantage of the superb mountain scenery. The interior is compact, simple and neat. Given the limited space and privacy we feel the chalet is probably best suited to a couple or small family.

At Bénodet, windsurfing, pedal boats and kayaks are available, and if you wish you can also spend a day at the thalassotherapy centre, the casino, the cinema and for the amateurs, there is one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in the west. Go further to the Pointe du Raz to see how the land and the ocean merge together. Visit the old town of Locronan or browse the ramparts of the walled city in Concarneau.

The discreet English owner lives in the grounds. The historic bustling bastide town of Eymet is close by with a weekly market, cafes, bars and restaurants. The charming bastide towns of Duras and Monségur are within a short drive and also have colourful weekly markets.

Nearby Bergerac straddles the River Dordogne and is the largest town in the Périgord Pourpre département, an area that derives its name from the purple grapes that grow in the region’s 125 sq km of vineyards. The most famous wines are the sweet whites produced around Monbazillac with château open to the public.

The old city and harbour retain their charm making Bergerac a good place to spend a day exploring. There are opportunities for cycling, walking, and wine tasting and canoeing in the area and for sampling the regions delicious local produce at one of the many local restaurants.
