The Domaine de Vertmarines is a private, enclosed development of 64 detached villas, all with private pools. Each holiday villa has its own enclosed garden area, paved terrace with pool, outdoor and pool furniture, and garage. The villas have been thoughtfully laid out to maximise both privacy and sunshine in their gardens. The villas may be on 1 or 2 levels (2 level villas may have open tread stairs) and the numbers of double and twin bedrooms vary. You will be allocated a villa which corresponds to your sleeping requirements. The interiors are individually designed and decorated and the quality furnishings, while always to a high standard, will vary. Lovely setting on the rural outskirts of lively and cosmopolitan St. Jean-de-Monts, yet only 3km to the wide, sandy beaches in this region of pine forests and dunes. An extensive range of watersport activities is available nearby, there is also an excellent golf course and activity parks. The miles of forest paths and open marshland areas provide a quiet and relaxing contrast for walking and cycling. Take a short boat trip to the Ile d’Yeu or Ile de Re, or drive across to the Ile de Noirmoutier. The excellent Puy de Fou theme park is only 122km.

Just ten minutes’ drive from the glorious Vendée beaches, these holiday properties are set on a former farm on the wide open spaces of the Marais Desseche. Le Cygne (ref F85140) and Le Héron (ref F85141) are converted from former farm buildings, each with private terrace, and have been carefully renovated to retain the charm and features of earlier times. La Cigogne (ref F85203) and Le Colvert (ref F85204) are part of the former farmhouse, and provide simple accommodation in a traditional style. These four properties share the use of a heated swimming pool (open 15 May - 30 Sep). Fishing is available on the lake within the grounds, and on the canal just 1km away. This fascinating area of reclaimed land is criss-crossed with canals and has uninterrupted views for miles. Close by, the charming village of Angles has shops, bars and restaurants, with a further choice at La Tranche-sur-Mer. The coastline here has miles of sandy beaches, backing onto natural dunes and shady pine forests, making it ideal for family holidays. There are excellent facilities for water sports, including jet-ski hire, windsurfing and sailing, as well as go karting, micro-lights, tennis, golf and riding in the surrounding area.
