Just ten minutes’ drive from the glorious Vendée beaches, these holiday properties are set on a former farm on the wide open spaces of the Marais Desseche. 250m from the sea

250 metres from the dunes and the sea and with its own fishing lake, the Maisons du Lac holiday properties are perfectly situated for a family holiday by the beach. On a small complex, each house has its own private enclosed terrace with garden furniture to make the most of the sunshine on this part of the coast, one of France’s sunniest.

Les Mas de Vertmarines is conveniently located in a residential area of this seaside resort, only 2km from a beautiful, sandy beach. Amid the dunes and pine forests, St Jean de Monts has all the amenities of a lively resort yet retains a friendly ’family’ feel. There is a wide selection of activities including watersports, fun parks, bicycle hire and golf. A short boat trip from Gilles Croix de Vie (5km) takes you to the lovely Isle d’Yeu. The Isle de Nourmoutier, famous for its shellfish, can now be reached by road. Parents can relax by either of the two outdoor swimming pools, open depending on season and weather, one with children’s pool. There is free wi-fi access at reception. A breakfast and bread delivery service is also available (2 July-31 August). All the cottage-style properties are arranged in groups, often divided by a central courtyard.
