Logis de la Treille is set in a lovely position, on the border of Charente-Maritime, Gironde and Dordogne. It shares large gardens and also a beautiful swimming pool (open June - October). The villages of La Roche Chalais, Saint Emilion, or nearer Saint Aigulin are all less than half an hour’s drive, while the magnificent city of Bordeaux is one hour away. The River Dronne offers fishing and canoeing, and there is also a beach on the river at Aubeterre with water sports and pedalos. Also a welcoming water park is in La Roche-Chalais that the children will love! There are lovely markets all around but the one not to be missed is in Libourne three times a week. The Dordogne can be explored one hour away. A perfect location for a peaceful holiday!

This holiday property is in a quiet location in the hamlet of Coubortiges and has its own private, solar-heated, salt water swimming pool (33m², open May-Sep). The owner lives on site and across from the house there is a large, covered, private annexe with an additionnal fridge and table and chairs, or, should you prefer to be in the sun, there is a further sitting area by the pool where you have another set of table and chairs.

The garden is fully enclosed and has a play area with a swing, and there is a also large games room with table football, pool and table tennis. There is a very good restaurant within 2km, otherwise all services are in the very pretty town of Melle which is 6km away and famous for its silver mines. Try to visit the market at Lezay, one of the best in the area and Chef-Boutonne which includes an ancient château.

The Futuroscope at Poitiers is just over an hour away, there is a beach lake just over 15 minutes away at Celles but if you prefer the sea, Fouras is a great place for a day at the beach and is an hour and a half’s drive.

This pretty four bedroom cottage with its wooden floors and beamed ceilings has been tastefully furnished to provide all comforts including gas central heating, as well as a log burner for out of season holidays and a fully fitted kitchen. There is plenty of space inside and outside, including your own private swimming pool (8m x 4m, depth 1.2m) and extensive gardens which are accessed by crossing the very quiet lane.

There are two local villages, l’Absie, 7km, to the north and the lovely Coulonges-sur-l’Autize, 6km, to the south. Both have all amenities including some lovely cafés, restaurants and a weekly market.

You should try to visit the Marais Poitevin 20km to the south, the ’Green Venice’ as it is known locally, famous throughout France where you can take a canoe trip through the canal networks. The county border with the Vendée is just 4km away, so it will take you less than an hour and a half to reach the lovely sandy beaches on the coast.
