The interesting town of Les Eyzies is also a short drive, whilst the old town of Bergerac offers many interesting shops.

This village cottage, full of character is situated in the wine-producing plains, west of Bergerac, with the River Dordogne only 200m. During renovations the original walls of brick and river pebbles were discovered and fully restored. The owner, a keen antiques collector has some lovely country furniture, restored by himself. There is a small garden to the rear (access from kitchen and one bedroom) and a private salt-water swimming pool. There are six principal groups of wine appellations in this area, the better known being Monbazillac, Pécharmant and Bergerac. At five minutes’ drive is the Cave Co-opérative of Le Fleix, known for its award-winning wines.

A restored ‘Gascon style’ luxury farmhouse, situated in the country, typical for this area of south west France, internally it is nicely furnished and has all the required ‘home comforts’ to provide a quality, cosy holiday home.

The garden areas are mature and extensive and a conservatory and terrace area with quality furniture overlooks the private swimming pool with sun loungers. The discreet owner lives 50 yards from the property.

The Lot Valley has a combination of pretty villages and medieval Bastides, Monclar, the nearest is approximately 2km. Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Agen are both within 30km. There are also many night markets to visit in this area. Visitors are welcome at the local golf club at Tombeboeuf. The nearest airport is Bergerac, which is a 45-minute drive from the property. Bordeaux and Toulouse are 2 hours away.

This stone-built cottage is set deep in the woods and nestles on a hillside with lovely views of surrounding countryside, offering the perfect opportunity for a holiday of total tranquillity. The nearest shop and tennis court is in historic village of Rouffignac, a 10 minute drive. A wider selection of shops, supermarkets and aquarium can be found in Le Bugue. The bustling town of Les Eyzies-de-Tayac offers many attractions and is the home of the first-known bones of ‘homo sapiens’. You can visit ‘the ‘cave of one hundred mammoths’ and the sinister-looking Château de l’Herm, both near Rouffignac.
