A 5-minute walk will take you directly onto Downderry beach, and there is also a local shop, bistro, restaurant and pub in the village. To the west of Downderry is Seaton, which has a nature trail running along the valley to Hessenford, and two miles along is the famous Monkey Sanctuary. Historic houses, quaint fishing villages and moorland walks are all within easy reach. Nearby Looe offers fishing, boating and shopping, and the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are within 45 minutes’ drive.
