The North Devon coastline can be easily reached, with walking along the South West Coastal Path, or relaxing on some of the great beaches at Woolacombe or Saunton. There are NT properties at Arlington Court and Castle Drogo, or visit the RHS gardens at Rosemoor. For cyclists and walkers there is the Tarka Trail, as well as golf courses at High Bullen and High Bickington. Also available locally is horse riding or fishing on the River Taw. There is a working farm within the grounds and guests are able to buy fresh produce such as fresh eggs, salad bags and seasonal vegetables. Rhubarb Cottage is very traditional, perfect for the smaller party looking for a comfortable base in the Langdale Valley. The wood burning stove, set in slate mined from the quarry that can be seen on the hillside beyond, is certainly the focal point of the lounge, that’s if you can tear yourself away from the window seat and that stunning view! Parking at Rhubarb Cottage is on the roadside towards the church although you can pull up outside the cottage to unload.
