As the owners’ much loved Lake District base, it is comfortable and well equipped, with personal touches making it a real home from home.  Elevated in a quiet corner above Keswick, there are extensive, unobstructed views towards the surrounding fells - yet the town centre, with all its amenities, is only a couple of minutes walk away. Walkers and pet owners will love the location, close to Fitz Park and the River Greta, with quick access on to the open hills. No wonder some guests have returned for over ten years! We are now offering leisure facilites at Keswick Pool and fitness suite which is only about seven minutes walk across the park from The Fells.

These two delightful detached cottages (refs 29648 and 29649) are located on the foot slopes of Dunkery Beacon at Exmoor’s highest point. Situated around the yard of the owner’s small farm, the cottages are an ideal holiday destination for those seeking peace and quiet, but also to enjoy all this stunning area of Somerset. Both properties offer well-appointed and furnished accommodation and also have the extra comfort of a woodburner with a plentiful supply of logs. There is a decked area with each cottage where guests can sit out and enjoy the local surroundings. Each cottage comes with its own lockable store cupboard for bikes and surf boards and also has its own kennel area. The local village of Wheddon Cross is a short distance away and has a well-stocked local shop and a pub. From the top gate of the farm, guests can walk up to the summit of Dunkery Beacon, where the views are far-reaching. During your stay, there is plenty to do and enjoy, with superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor where you will find points of interest such as Withypool, Lanacre and Tarr Steps. Along the coast, there are the Victorian towns of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), Valley of the Rocks and cliff railway. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to walk along whilst eating an ice cream, and the town also has a good array of shops and other amenities; you can also take a trip on the famous West Somerset Steam Railway. A visit to the enchanting medieval Dunster Castle (NT), with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill, will make for an interesting day out, as will the villages of Porlock, Porlock Weir and Selworthy.
