The village has a couple of pubs - including the Dent Brewery - a village shop and tea rooms, with further shopping at nearby Kirkby Lonsdale, Kendal, Hawes and Sedbergh. Dentdale is the smallest and probably the loveliest dale with pretty riverside walks and country lanes with footpaths leading to the hills, and the Three Peaks are nearby for the more adventurous. There are walks to suit everyone with riverside strolls, the Flintergill Nature Trail, and strenuous climbs up the dale side. The Three Peaks and Lake District are also easily accessible.
