Central location

Once a derelict building, this 18th century Georgian apartment has been rebuilt by the current owners and offers beautiful, spacious character accommodation in the heart of Whitby. Originally built by the Skinner Brothers, the property sits midway along Skinner Street above a recommended Italian Restaurant. An ideal location from which to discover the delights of this ancient sea port, known for its connections to the great explorer Captain James Cook. A short stroll will bring to the colourful harbour, overlooked and almost protected by the abbey ruins. Brave of heart should take the 199 steps for breathtaking views from St Mary’s Church, where, legend tells, Count Dracula lies resting, or join one of the Ghost Walks around Whitby. A 3-mile stretch of white sandy beach is perfect for a fun filled family day out. Whitby is also home to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train and a journey can be taken through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park into the well known villages of Goathland and Grosmont (formerly Heartbeat country). The West Cliff is home to the Spa Theatre and a childrens’ paddling pool, go karts and an 18-hole clifftop golf course. The cobbled streets are lined with antique shops and tea rooms, all available from your doorstep. Shops, pub and restaurant 10 yards.

First floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with wooden floors. Reading room. 1 double (5ft) bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Second floor: 3 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 2 twin.

Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. DVDs. CD with i-pod dock. Microwave. Electric cooker. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Broadband connection. Car park (200 yards). No smoking. Friday to Friday.
