Raydale House Ref: IOS

Dating back to the 17th century, this period house was home to the last act of private and domestic warfare in England, possession of the house was fought over by Sir Thomas Metcalfe, known as the Black Knight of Nappa and Mrs Robinson. Thankfully the house now nestles in serenity amongst some of the prettiest scenery to be found in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, within a working farm environment and shooting estate. In an elevated position, the house is well placed for taking in the views not least from the conservatory where visitors can look over the landscaped gardens to the fields and hills beyond, but also down to Semerwater. Decked areas and patio with table, chairs and BBQ. Ample private parking. If your occupancy is 12 guests or under, only Hill Top Barn and Bawaardi Lodge will be made available. If you wish to book for 13 or more guests, then a higher rate is applicable as you will have access to the additional suites and studio on the farm.

With walks in all directions it is ideal for walkers and Shaw Ghyll Wood provides a tranquil setting. Hardraw Force is within a half an hour walk. To the north, neighbouring Swaledale can be accessed from the ’Buttertubs Pass’. Hawes (two miles away) has a range of individual shops, and the popular Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre.
