Hillcroft Ref: CC211178
Are you stressed out? Needing to chill out? Or simply wanting to get away from it all?
Many of our recent visitors have mentioned one or other of the below reasons for visiting Hillcroft and all have said they felt better after the break however short it was.
So what is special about it?
HOME FROM HOME:  Enjoy the home comforts, the antiques, the china, the wooden beams, the stone staircase as well as every necessity for self catering. Hillcroft has evolved in comfort over the last 50 years; it’s our second home, make it yours too if only for a short time.
THE SITUATION:  It’s in a delightful village Langthwaite, beloved of TV producers and film makers in the recent past. It’s bang in the middle of Yorkshire’s remotest dale and perhaps its most scenically stunning.
THE SECLUDED GARDEN:  Detached from the cottage, this extends up the hillside from a lower patio (see photos) to a top patio with summerhouse affording magnificent views along Arkengarthdale from Calva to Kitley (more photos). The summerhouse not only boasts the usual patio furniture but also has light and power. The path is automatically lit at night by solar powered lights.

Ground Floor: Property has electric night storage heaters, open fire in lounge and comprises:
Lounge: With open fire, TV, video with Free Sat box incorporating radio stations, and telephone with honesty box.
Kitchen: Galley style kitchen with slimline double electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and slimline dishwasher.
Bathroom: With shower over bath ( low ceiling), WC, shaver point and wash basin.

First Floor: Master Bedroom: Accessed by stone staircase, and with double bed.
Bedroom 2: With 2’6" twin beds accessed by staircase from rear hall.

All fuel, power, bed linen and towels included. Sorry no pets and no children under the age of 7.Outside: Up the lane steep steps to a lower patio with garden seat and socket for clothes dryer. Off road parking space for one small car.
Unfortunately due to the steep path and stone staircase neither the cottage or the garden are suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Superbly located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with long-distance views from the rear towards Malham Cove, these three properties form part of a barn conversion dating back to the 1800s. Exposed stonework, beams and arches are a feature in their well furnished interiors. They are set on the owners’ working farm (keep dogs under control), upon which the owners run a farm shop – a selection of local produce and crafts can be purchased and make unique souvenir ideas. With their own separate garden areas complete with barbecue equipment, the cottages can be booked together to accommodate larger groups wishing to holiday together, yet retain their independence.
Surrounded by rolling countryside criss-crossed with the limestone walls for which this region is renowned, each forms an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts, with stunning walks from the doorstep leading to Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Malham Tarn and Janet’s Foss. The historic market town of Skipton is close at hand, boasting one of England’s best preserved Norman castles. Take a leisurely boat trip along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, step back in time with a narrated ghost walk around the town’s backwaters, or hunt for a bargain at the bustling street market – its stalls laden with local produce. An alternative selection of shops and tearooms can be found in Settle (6 miles), an ideal base for embarking on a journey aboard the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway.
