The cathedral city of Ripon and Skipton with its medieval castle are also worthy of a visit. Good fishing is available on the nearby River Ure is also available by day ticket from the local Angling Association; you can even purchase your free-range eggs from the owner’s flock of varied breeds housed nearby.
