Nearby Ludlow (12 miles) is one of England’s best preserved medieval and Georgian towns, boasting a Norman castle and an array of timber-framed buildings crowding into narrow streets, as well as some fine Georgian architecture. There are antique shops to explore and riverside walks as well as many fine restaurants boasting Michelin Stars.

Within easy driving distance are the Severn Valley Railway, the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park at Bewdley and several historic buildings, including Witley Court (English Heritage), Berrington Hall and Croft Castle (NT). Worcester (12 miles) has a splendid cathedral, china museum, a racecourse and excellent shopping facilities. Tennis, golf and fishing within 5 miles. Shops 4½ miles, pubs 1½ miles.
