Visitors have sole use of a fully fenced pond area to the side of the cottage, ideal for dogs and children, and access to a large field and further ponds. Just 1 mile from Cricklade, a small, historic, 9th-century Saxon town, lying at the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is the only Wiltshire town situated on the banks of the River Thames. It’s midway between Swindon and Cirencester, and is surrounded by lovely countryside ideal for walking, riding and cycling. At the north of the town is North Meadow, now a National Nature Reserve, and home to the rare ’Snakeshead Fritillary’ which flower in April. Nearby is the Cotswold Water Park which offers activities including sailing, water/jet skiing, fishing and bird watching. Travelling around the Cotswolds there are many places to visit, step back in time by wandering the streets of the Regency spa town of Cheltenham, as well as ancient market towns such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden and Anglo-Saxon Winchcombe, where you’ll discover Sudeley Castle.
