Just 1 mile from Cricklade, a small, historic, 9th-century Saxon town, lying at the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is the only Wiltshire town situated on the banks of the River Thames. At the north of the town is North Meadow, now a National Nature Reserve, and home to the rare ’Snakeshead Fritillary’ which flower in April. Nearby is the Cotswold Water Park which offers activities including sailing, water/jet skiing, fishing and bird watching. Step back in time in the beautiful village of Lacock with medieval abbey and quintessentially English houses and streets.
