Warwick Castle is a wonderful day out where you'll be welcomed by Henry VIII! Explore the expansive grounds, take a tour of the castle's interior and even scare yourself silly in the Dungeons.

Stratford-Upon-Avon is most famous as the home of William Shakespeare so why not pay a visit to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, pop over to Anne Hathaway's Cottage or visit the Bard's birthplace? You could even take in all these Shakespearian attractions via an open-top bus tour.

From your cottage there's easy access to Coventry's Transport Museum; it houses the largest collection of British transport in the World, and the best bit? Admission is free! If the weather's fine, a visit to Twycross Zoo is fun for kids of all ages. For a show with a difference, you could even book to go to an outdoor theatre evening hosted at the zoo. For a relaxing walk or a taste of adventure, Coombe Country Park is the perfect outdoor space. It offers 500 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland, lakeside walks and bird watching. It has one of Warwickshire's largest heronries, along with a climbing forest, children's play area, formal gardens and coarse fishing facilities.

Royal Leamington Spa is perfect for a sophisticated shopping trip. Leamington's art gallery, library and museum are now housed within the old pump rooms, where you can learn more about the history of this spa town and its baths.

For lazy, hazy summer days, St Nicholas Park in Warwick offers a wide range of activities including boating, donkey rides, a paddling pool and a fun fair. Jephson Gardens in Leamington was awarded the Green Flag and Green Heritage awards in 2006 and was voted Best Park in Britain 2004 or why not take a look around Redwings Horse Sanctuary at Oxhill, where there are more than 50 rescued horses, ponies and donkeys making themselves at home.
