These two charming, adjoining holiday cottages are peacefully located within glorious countryside adjacent to the owner’s farmhouse and 34-acre beef farm. The private, heated indoor pool they share is just a short walk through the pretty gardens and there is a great play field for the children to let off steam. Very well equipped, they offer excellent accommodation in a cosy atmosphere. The village of Woolsery is just ¾ mile and has a good village store, village inn serving meals and a church. The rugged beauty of Bucks Mill beach is just 3 miles and there are many delightful sandy beaches close by, ideal for surfing, including Westward Ho! and Bude. This is the perfect touring base to explore the delights of both North Devon and North Cornwall. Coastal walks, golf, fishing and riding can be found nearby, and for family fun The Big Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure Park are a must. Garden lovers will enjoy RHS Rosemoor and Docton Mill, and there are many pretty fishing villages nearby including Clovelly, Instow and Appledore. Shops and pub ¾ mile.

Brompton Lodge Ref: IAC

Featuring its own indoor heated swimming pool, this spacious attractive house with surrounding garden, stands in a hamlet on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Well equipped and comfortable, it boasts spacious rooms and all modern comforts, making a superb family holiday base.
Just 10 miles away to the east lies the wonderful North Yorkshire coastline. Filey has a wide sandy beach which shelves gently into the sea, whilst the resort of Scarborough, popular with families, offers an excellent choice of restaurants and a theatre. Magnificent Flamborough Head with its bird sanctuary is 18 miles. The historic sea port of Whitby (25 miles), where the legendary Captain Cook learned his trade, has a beautiful new marina. The old town is a jumble of narrow streets, with ancient houses and little craft shops, and above the town, high on a headland, are the jagged ruins of Whitby Abbey, still an impressive sight.
Inland is the market town of Malton, where a museum houses finds from the Roman camp which once stood here. Five miles to the west, Castle Howard, one of England’s grandest houses, is well worth a visit. Surrounded by magnificent parkland, it contains fine furniture and paintings, as well as Britain’s largest private collection of dress from the 17th-century to the present day. The attractive town of Pickering at the southern foot of the moors, is home to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, which travels across Heartbeat country. The city of York can be reached in an hour or so, with its superb museums, excellent shops and splendid Minster. Flamingo Land and Ayton Castle are also nearby. There is an excellent golf course at Ganton (2 miles) and first-class riding stables at Snainton (7 miles). Good pubs and restaurants can be found in the surrounding villages. Village shop 1 mile, supermarket 3 miles.

The Tudor part of the beautiful former vicarage has been renovated whilst retaining original character, to provide spacious holiday accommodation close to the coastal regions of West Somerset. The Gatehouse is an attractive two storey holiday home which is within the Rossholme grounds. The cottages are situated in 5 acres of lawns and landscaped gardens, with shared use of a hard tennis court and outdoor heated swimming pool during the summer months. Each property has a barbecue area and views over open countryside. A function room seating 60 is available on site by prior arrangement with the owner, and catering can be arranged. East Brent lies at the foot of Brent Knoll, a 450ft high hill that has the remains of an ancient Celtic camp on its summit with views of the Quantocks, Bridgwater Bay, the Bristol Channel, the Mendips and South Wales. With easy access to the M5, the village is only minutes from the coast; Weston-Super-Mare and Sand Bay have sandy beaches and family attractions, whilst the smaller resorts of Clevedon and Burnham on Sea retain an atmosphere of a bygone era. Axbridge is 5 miles, and the caves and gorge at Cheddar, 6 miles. For walking and cycling, the Quantocks, the Mendips, the Somerset Levels and Exmoor are close by. Shop 1 mile, pub 600 yards.

All the properties are comfortably furnished with leather sofas, pine or oak furniture, well equipped kitchens and modern bathrooms, making this a holiday to enjoy and remember.
The friendly owners live on site and are happy to help. Many visitors find themselves revisiting Higher Poulston year after year. This is a very family friendly holiday complex; the ideal place for mums and dads to relax in, children to have fun, and grandparents to join in too.
Set within its own 9½ acres of private land, tucked away along a quiet country lane and close to a working dairy farm. Away from the farm there are many interesting places to explore. There is a little tourist information room on site and in here you will find plenty of ideas for days out and about . For your local shopping, the little village of Harbertonford, 1 mile, has a small village shop, a pub and post office. Also, the village of Morleigh, 1 mile, has a pub serving food. The ancient town of Totnes, just 3 miles away, has a truly unique atmosphere, with a range of quirky independent shops and bistros and is a vibrant and interesting place to visit, especially on Fridays when the market comes to town.
The South Devon coastline is close at hand, has many beautiful beaches and coves, scenic walks and pretty villages including Blackpool Sands and Slapton. Enjoy a day out in the riverside marine town of Dartmouth and take a cruise along the river to Totnes or the ferry across to Kingswear, and the quaint fishing town of Brixham, then ride on the steam train to Paignton or Buckfastleigh. Within easy reach are the English Riviera resorts of Paignton and Torquay, the boating and sailing centre of Salcombe on the estuary and the historic town of Dartmouth, nestling on the banks of the River Dart. Woodlands Fun Park is a great tourist attraction and fun day out for families, as is Dartmoor National Park, with its hundreds of acres of wild rugged moorland, both about 4 miles away.
Close to Dartmouth you can play golf on an 18-hole championship course (Higher Poulston visitors receive a discount at Dartmouth golf and country club). Bike and kayak hire are available locally.

Wells Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Ham Wall RSPB Reserve and excellent walking on the Mendip Hills are also an easy drive. Enjoy a great day out to the historical, Regency spa town of Bath with its Roman spa bath, or visit the stately home of Longleat, home of Lord Bath and its safari park. Visit Stourhead Gardens (NT) and the traditional seaside resorts of Burnham on Sea, Brean Down and Weston Super Mare with their sandy beaches, ideal for sand surfing.
