Find cottages in SurreyVisit Surrey

Explore the diverse countryside of the South East with a cottage break in Surrey; from sleepy villages nestling perfectly alongside vibrant towns to thrilling theme parks sitting side by side with vineyards and National Trust gardens.

The rich heritage of Surrey cannot fail to impress, and with such a diverse range of things to see and do, it's no wonder that the area welcomes so many visitors.

Surrey was the playground for some of England's Medieval monarchs, so it's only natural that you should visit some of the area's historic houses, including Loseley Park and Hampton Court Palace, the oldest Tudor palace in England. For 360 degree panoramic views, head to the top of the Guildford Castle Great Tower, where you can look out onto the Surrey Hills and surrounding countryside.

There's a wealth of museums that each tell the unique history of the area but if you only visit one, make it the Brooklands Museum, the birthplace of the British motorsport and aviation industry. Lose yourself in 265 acres of vines at Denbies Wine Estate, England's largest of its kind, or if you're more of an ale fan there's Hogs Back Brewery.

Those keen to learn about some fascinating animals and birds should head for the British Wildlife Centre, Birdworld and Bocketts Farm Park.

Family friendly attractions can be found here and who doesn't love a good rollercoaster? Surrey's theme parks feature some of the wildest rides in the country, making them a thrill-seekers paradise. Promising fun for all ages, Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park are both located within easy reach of your holiday accommodation, so you won't have to travel far for a ride!

The Surrey Hills offer some of the most beautiful and accessible countryside in the South East and famous beauty spots include Box Hill, Devil's Punch Bowl and Leith Hill and Tower. Why not head off on foot with a picnic and enjoy exploring the extensive network of footpaths and open commons.

Tee off at one of over 140 golf courses or leave the other half there while you spend a morning browsing markets and local shops. You'll find yourself drawn towards the cobbled streets and twisting lanes of historic market towns, filled with timber-framed buildings, specialist shops and bijoux boutiques.

Come along and see for yourself - take a look at our selection of holiday cottages in Surrey today.

Less than an hour from London by train or car, in the South Downs National Park, this detached 18th-century former barn is set in the owner’s grounds, in the heart of this quintessentially English village with pub, green and cricket pitch. An ideal weekend get-away for families or groups of friends, it has a one-acre private garden with croquet lawn, mature specimen plants including a 300-year old cedar tree and an outside terrace with table and chairs for 10 - an ideal spot to enjoy al-fresco dining - as well as a detached games room with pool table, table tennis and table football. Inside, along with wonderful original features including exposed stone walls, flagstone and brick floors and beams, there is a wood-burning stove, an Aga and an oak dining table, whilst the bedrooms have Victorian bedsteads and deep mattresses.
