There's great fun for all ages with the 'Under the Pier' show and the 45 miles of Suffolk coastline offers beautiful sandy coves and rolling shingles, with wooden beach huts dotted along the sand. Try a pint of Adnams' famous Suffolk beers from the coast or eat tasty fish and chips on the seawall at Aldeburgh.

The history and heritage of Suffolk is fascinating to discover and the region has lots of tales of Anglo Saxon Kings and Tudor Queens to tell. The 12th century fortress, Framlingham Castle, brings a colourful 800 year history to life perfectly. There are many attractions close by including the Africa Alive Adventure Park at Kessingland or the East Anglia Transport Museum just 3 miles away. Drive along the Suffolk Heritage Coastline to Southwold, Walberswick, Aldeburgh and the RSPB bird sanctuary at Minsmere, or spend the day at Oulton Broads which offers sailing and boat hire. Somerleyton Hall with 12 acres of garden and maze, is a few miles away. Pebbles (ref 26152) can be booked with Seaside Cottage (ref 26153) to accommodate up to 8 guests. For the more active there are walks across the heathland common to the harbour and its famous fish and chips on the Blackshore, also available locally are golf, sailing and tennis. Take a trip across the harbour by the rowing boat ferry to Walberswick (for crabbing) on the Suffolk Heritage Coast and return via the footbridge. Other local attractions include RSPB Minsmere, Dunwich Heath (NT), the magnificent Blythburgh church and Snape Maltings concert hall. Further inland are the pleasant market towns of Halesworth with its art centre and Framlingham with its 12th century castle. Easy access to ’The Broads’ at Beccles and Oulton Broad.
