Along with many other beautiful villages, West Meon is 5 miles, with pubs serving great food and where the founder of Lords cricket rests; Wickham and Bishops Waltham are both 6 miles and host an array of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Within easy reach are the glorious South Downs, Portsmouth with historic ship yards, the Spinnaker Tower, waterside dining & ferry trips to the Isle of Wight, Cathedral cities Winchester & Chichester, Southampton with its remarkable maritime history, the vast array of scenic walks in the New Forest, beaches at Lee-On-Solent, Hill Head and The Witterings.
Walking and cycling enthusiasts will enjoy both the Meon Valley Railway Line trail, accessible from Droxford, and Beacon Hill accessed via Exton (2 miles). Shop, PO and three pubs (one was Good Pub Guide ‘Hampshire dining pub of the year 2011’), located in Droxford Village ½ mile.

The quaint town of Petworth is 4 miles away, with its plentiful antique shops, beautiful stately home and Capability Brown park, where live music concerts and outdoor theatre can be enjoyed during the summer months. Beautifully presented throughout, this splendid Grade II listed Regency town house offers wonderful views to historical Arundel Castle, which is only 50 yards away. Located in the heart of this quaint town, it is only a 2-minute walk from plentiful antique shops, pubs, restaurants, cathedral and lido, and near the Wildfowl and Wetlands for birdwatching. In keeping with the Regency era, the furnishings cleverly complement the period style, and are carefully co-ordinated and styled to enhance features such as the ornamental fire surrounds and large windows. The holiday accommodation is spacious, set over four floors, and with families in mind, there is a games room on the lower ground floor. Arundel is recognised for its castle and variety of historic buildings in a small area. Out of around 500 buildings in the conservation area, many are listed. The beautiful castle is referred to in the Domesday Book in 1086, and has been occupied by the Dukes of Norfolk and their families for over 850 years. The Victorian Catholic Cathedral was designed by Joseph Hansom, who also designed the Hansom cab.
Climping Beach is only a 5-minute drive, or slightly further, Worthing, Elmer or Littlehampton. Bustling Brighton is within 20 minutes’ drive, within the ornate Royal Pavilion, The Lanes for interesting artefacts, plentiful theatres, art galleries, extensive shopping, the marina with harbourside dining, and many amusements for all ages along the beach. Visit Chichester, with its beautiful ornate cathedral, theatre, pedestrianised shopping, tea rooms, harbour tours, Goodwood or Fontwell racing. Also within easy reach is the picturesque harbour village of Bosham with antiques, emporium and waterside cafe, or naval Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, designer shopping and waterside dining.
