The county of Somerset is renowned for its beautiful countryside, which is dotted with cider orchards and rural farmland. At the very heart of cider country, between the Quantock and Blackdown hills, is the bustling market town of Taunton.

Taunton is ideally situated for exploring the West Country. The town dates back to the Norman times and combines traditional architecture with modern facilities including a good choice of shops high street and independent shops that sell specialist and local produce, entertainment and places to eat and drink.

The Taunton Heritage tour is a fascinating guided walk through the some of the town's most iconic buildings. Highlights include the Somerset Museum and the remains of the castle, the Cider press garden and two churches; St James, which dates back to medieval times and St Mary Magdalene, which originated in the 12th century.

A stroll along the high street will take you to Vivary Park with its extensive lawns, trees and flower displays. There is plenty to keep younger visitors amused including boating ponds, a play area and model railway. There is also a putting green and 18-hole golf course. Nature lovers will enjoy exploring the River Tone and associated waterways, for a relaxing stroll along the tow path, a spot of angling or an opportunity to watch rare birds and other wildlife.

It benefits from an enclosed garden, which is ideal to watch the birds and see the local wildlife, as well as benefiting from spacious accommodation. There is a woodburner in the living room which makes the property ideal for all year round holidays. Suitable for families and friends to get together for holidays or celebrations. The spacious grounds and idyllic surroundings offer a delightful, relaxing and peaceful atmosphere - the perfect antidote to everyday living. The West Dene way footpaths are well worth exploring and are right on the doorstep. The owner is happy to offer tours of the farm especially for children. Close to Minehead, a great family day out with lovely beaches and a fun seaside town. The West Somerset Railway is close by and Dunster Castle is worth a visit. Exmoor National Park is also on the doorstep. On Exmoor it is still possible to find tranquillity and peace as well as rediscovering your sense of adventure; to catch a glimpse of wild red deer, be amazed by dark skies full of stars and explore villages full of character.
