Find cottages in DulvertonVisit Dulverton

On the southern fringes of Exmoor lies the pretty riverside town of Dulverton. Located close to the Devon Border, the town's close proximately to the sandy beaches of North Devon and beautiful Somerset countryside make it an ideal location for a relaxing cottage holiday break.

Situated between the rivers Barle and Exe and on the banks of the Barle, this small but lively rural town has several good quality independent shops, award winning restaurants, traditional pubs and cafes serving cream teas and other local delights. There is a large Arts Centre with exhibitions throughout the year and festivals such as the annual Carnival and Folk Festival.

If you love the outdoors, you will be spoilt for choice in Exmoor National Park. The area is rich with wildlife, including rare birds, red deer and the iconic wild Exmoor ponies. There are numerous trails winding over the windswept moors and hills and through pretty woodland, whether you are on foot, on a bicycle or on horseback. There are Iron Age Hillforts to explore and ancient stone bridges dating back to prehistoric times.

Other activities in and around the town include fishing, there is a well-stocked trout lake, and golf. Just South of Dulverton is a Knightshayes Court, a Victorian Gothic masterpiece with beautiful grounds and a walled garden.

For the children, Diggerland is an adventure park located just off the M5 and within easy reach of Dulverton. Watch their faces light up as they take to the controls of a real digger.
