Find cottages in Burnham-on-SeaVisit Burnham-on-Sea

Few places showcase the unspoiled coastal beauty of Somerset better than the seven miles of clean sandy beach between Burnham-on-Sea and Brean Down.

Burnham-on-Sea caters for family holidays by the sea where the children can enjoy donkey rides on the beach (summer months) and amusements on the pier (Britain's shortest pier). Close by is Apex Park with a children's play area, skate park and walks. Adults can enjoy a round of golf at the nearby championship course at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club and there are great places to eat and drink.

Standing nearly 100m high and with spectacular views over the Bristol Channel, Brean Down is a National Trust promontory; there's also an impressive Napoleonic fort, where you can learn about the region's strategic importance in years gone past.

The wildlife and leisure park at Brean extends over 42 acres and is now home to a variety of water birds, including ducks, geese, gulls and swans. With fishing, a number of walks, a children's play area and more on site, you'll find it's the perfect place to keep the whole family entertained.

Close by visit Cheddar Gorge with its magnificent cliffs and famous caves; an area of quiet beauty.
