Set in 2 acres of land, this unique 300-year-old stone barn has been converted into very stylish and spacious living accommodation. The furnishings are of the highest standard and its position above Chapel-en-le-Frith in the Peak Park means that the Old Barn commands some spectacular views. This property offers open-plan holiday accommodation over five levels and is well equipped for a relaxing, 5 star stay. Included amongst its features are a covered, outdoor heated swimming pool, outside ‘English-styled pub’ with integral W.C. and changing facilities, cinema room, full-sized pool table and the use of musical instruments as well as broadband internet, desktop computer stations plus lots more. Set in the heart of the Peak District National Park, near to Castleton and Hope Valley, there are footpaths and bridleways for walking direct from the door, or guests can simply relax in the garden and enjoy the wonderful scenery. Castleton is a popular village, only 10 minutes away, with the Blue John Caverns and various other caverns to discover. The Old Barn is ideally situated for exploring Whaley Bridge, the spa town of Buxton and Matlock, as well as Chatsworth House which is a beautiful country mansion and popular with visitors. Local attractions include paintballing, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, golf and much more. Shops and pubs 1 mile.

This luxurious holiday cottage is spacious, yet intimate, and commands beautiful views of the countryside surrounding the peaceful village of Sheldon, only 3 miles from the market town of Bakewell. The oldest part of the cottage dates from 1800 and has been converted skilfully into a living room with tasteful furnishings, original beams, exposed stone walls and a large fireplace with a multi-fuel burner. There is a large dining area adjacent to the living room and a kitchen which leads into a south-facing conservatory, ideal for breakfast and relaxing. There is a downstairs toilet and utility area. Upstairs has three large double bedrooms (two with en-suite showers) and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a 6ft zip and link bed which can be used as a double bed or two single beds. The cottage has Sky TV and wi-fi internet access. Only a few steps from the main cottage is a games room and studio apartment. The large, heated games room has a pool table and table tennis table as well as a drying room for wet clothes and boots. Above the games room is the studio with sitting room and a double bedroom with en-suite. The sitting room has a sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only) and a TV. The cottage stands in an enclosed garden which has driveway parking for four vehicles, flower beds and two lawns. The larger lawn overlooks the nearby fields and hills, and is ideal for ball games. It adjoins a stone-flagged patio area with a built-in barbecue and outside table and chairs. Sheldon has a pub close to the cottage which is friendly and provides good food. The village is within easy reach of Bakewell and Ashford-on-the-Water, and is an excellent starting point for walking, exploring the countryside and visiting Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, the caves around Castleton and many other attractions in the Peak District. This holiday home is situated in the grounds of the owners’ home in the pretty village of Grindleford - just a stone’s throw from the local pub and just a short stroll into the countryside, which offers plenty of walks from the door. Within a few miles is the popular village of Hathersage with its open-air swimming pool, cafés, shops, bars and restaurants. Also from here, visitors can take the train to Manchester or Sheffield for museums, galleries and shows, or stop off in Edale and walk the Pennine Way. Visit Castleton to enjoy a guided tour by boat through its caves, where the beautiful Blue John Stone is mined. The old market town of Bakewell is a must, as well as a day visit to Chatsworth House and its 1,000-acre estate, made famous by ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ or Haddon Hall. The famous of village of Eyam is steeped in history and this cosy property was once the home of the village baker during the plague of 1665. There are many references to this era in the village; plaques, gravestones, relics and also a museum. Also visit the Jacobean mansion, which is now a craft centre.
