No trip to Northumbria is complete without a day trip to Lindisfarne (Holy Island), which can be reached at low tide, with its fairy tale castle and medieval connections. Why not take a boat trip to the Farne Islands to visit the basking seals. Alternatively visit the historic market town of Alnwick and take a day or two to admire the Duchess’s beautiful ornamental gardens, and Alnwick Castle, made famous by ’Hogwarts’ in the Harry Potter films.
