Coldstream is recognised as "The first true Border Toon" and is the birthplace of The Coldstream Guards, which are now the oldest British regiment. The nearby Hirsel Estate offers wonderful woodland walks, and a superb 18 hole golf course recently voted ’the friendliest course in the Borders’.
