The Poppies is a lovely ground floor apartment, tastefully furnished and decorated in a modern yet comfortable style.

New for 2014: washer dryer and free Wi-Fi throughout.

The apartment is situated within the Neaum Crag Estate; a woodland development of exclusive apartments and wooden lodges, overlooking a small open tarn.The estate covers some 18 acres of beautiful private grounds in an area of real seclusion at the entrance to the Langdale Valley, with many lovely walks available directly from the door. Situated in a virtually central position within the Lake District National Park; all the main attractions are easily accessible. This makes the location a perfect choice for visitors to enjoy the peaceful setting and an area of scenic paradise for walkers and climbers alike.
There is also free use of the estate Log Cabin Leisure Club on-site with small indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, Wi-Fi, table tennis and convenience shop (March-mid November.) Laundry facilities are available all year round.

At the foot of Kirkstone Pass and in a beautiful conservation area above the bustling village of Ambleside, 2 Edinboro is perfectly placed for walkers wishing to get on their boots and get right onto the fells. Direct access from the door of this Lakeland cottage leads to the slopes of Wansfell and her surrounding fell range, the village itself a manageable walk downhill of around 10 minutes. But you don’t have to be a walker to holiday here at 2 Edinboro. Ambleside has so much to offer the first time or returning guest that a week may not be enough. Every activity you can think of is on hand, be it walking, cycling and sailing and for those who prefer the more leisurely pursuits of eating, drinking and shopping, the village has an abundance of pubs, restaurants and a wide selection of interesting gift and outdoor shops.
2 Edinboro is a delightful characterful cottage blessed with all the essential ingredients for a Lakeland holiday that our guests have come to expect. The wood burning stove sits proudly as the main focal point in the living area, the floors dressed with local slate and the exposed beams and stripped pine all adding to the cottage ambience. A small patio to the front of the cottage is perfectly placed for enjoying the Lakeland air, if not the weather and blessed with two parking spaces, there really is little need to use the car all week

Irton Hall is a stunning holiday location with impressive history, set in the foothills of the Western fells of the Lake District between Wasdale and Eskdale. Parts of the magnificent hall, such as the Pele Tower, date from the 14th century. The Pele Tower (ref 25366) creates a totally unique holiday venue on four floors featuring spacious rooms with beams, sandstone walls and an original stone spiral staircase from top to bottom of the tower. The third floor family bedroom and en-suite are accessed via this spiral staircase; the other floors have additional standard staircase access, whilst the first floor living room has a leisure area with pool table. Broughton House (ref 24374) forms the west wing of Irton Hall, where spacious elegant rooms, chandeliers and a grand staircase with stained glass windows make this a dream holiday venue. A pool table in the living room and wi-fi access enhance the excellent facilities available. The Clock Tower (ref 24587) is a wonderful original stone detached building behind the main hall with a modern interior, including 4 shower rooms and a spacious family living area with patio doors opening onto a private decked area. Set beside the main hall, Lamplugh (ref 25507) is a delightful, semi-detached holiday cottage with spacious rooms looking out over grounds, having its own private sitting-out area and freedom to roam the nature trails within the woods. Lingard Cottage (ref 26257) is a semi-detached cottage to the side of the main hall and has its own entrance hall and French doors to sitting-out area. Ormondroyd Cottage (ref 26258) is also a semi-detached cottage to the side of the main hall with its own entrance hall and French doors from the living room to a small balcony overlooking open countryside.
Both Oliver Cromwell and Henry VI visited the hall, although it is reputed that Henry VI was refused entry and spent the night under the 1000 year old oak tree in front of the house, known as ‘The King’s Oak’.
Surrounded by 19 acres of natural parkland where children can play to their hearts’ content and guests may wander and explore the natural habitats of abundant wildlife in the grounds. A short drive will bring you to wide sandy beaches, the Eskdale miniature steam railway at Ravenglass and Muncaster Castle and Gardens which also house the unique International Owl Sanctuary. The Langdales are to the east, accessed via the Hard Knott Pass and Wrynose Pass, whilst Wasdale and Wastwater with their amazing views of Great Gable and Scafell Pike are 5 miles away. Ideally situated at the heart of the western Lake District, many lakes are within easy reach such as Ennerdale Water, Crummock Water and Buttermere, whether to stroll along the banks and watch the reflection of the drifting clouds in the Lakes, or expend some energy climbing the rugged hills to admire the stunning views from the top - the choices are endless. The historic port and marina of Whitehaven which hosts the Tall Ships Race every two years is 14 miles, with shops, restaurants, museums and many holiday activities. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
