The creek is a favourite with yachtsmen and boaters and the nearby mill pond is rich in wildlife with resident herons, egrets and kingfishers whilst the rural landscape is home to red squirrels, foxes, badgers and dormice. Visitors will find places of interest to suit all ages and tastes including the Roman Villa at Brading, a wax museum housed in the island’s oldest domestic building dating from 1499, The Isle of Wight Steam Railway, the Butterfly and Fountain World, interactive dinosaur museums, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, the Botanic Gardens at Ventnor, traditional craft studios and Firestone Copse with its picnic sites and walks.
