Find cottages in BrighstoneVisit Brighstone

The parish of Brighstone, with its thatched cottages and delightfully quaint streets, is almost the perfect representation of a picture postcard village.

Situated on the south-west coast of the island and lying in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Brighstone is a peaceful haven away from the pressures of modern life, while still being within easy reach of many of the attractions that the Isle of Wight has to offer.

The village itself has a selection of shops and a couple of historic public houses where you can enjoy a drink and a bite to eat in cosy, traditional surroundings. The Brighstone Museum is located within a row of delightful cottages and transports visitors back to life as it was in the village during the 19th century.

Two of the most popular activities in the area are walking and cycling. The sandy heathland that stretches away from the village contains a number of pathways that take you through some beautiful countryside. Your walk may even lead you to some ancient monuments, mainly burial mounds, dating back to the Bronze Age.

As the Isle of Wight is fairly compact in area, the majority of the main tourist towns are within easy reach of Brighstone. The town of Newport is just six miles away, while the holiday resorts of Ventnor, Shanklin and Sandown are not much further. A short distance to the west is the famous 'Needles'.

If you are looking for a holiday destination that offers both tranquillity and easy access to a wide variety of attractions and resorts, Brighstone holiday cottages may be the perfect choice.
